University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire alum, Troy Winrich, was one of the first students to graduate from the UW-Eau Claire Entrepreneur Program in 1995. For his final project, Winrich's business idea was to refurbish and assemble ground support equipment used by the airline industry. Expanding upon his original business idea, Winrich turned his concept into a business solution. Today, he is the owner of Trowin Industries, Inc., a company that refurbishes tow tractors, push back tractors, burned carriers, speed trucks and custom chassis. His entrepreneurial journey wasn't entirely easy and straightforward. Post-graduation, Winrich held a few different jobs in order to save capital for his enterprise. With what first began in his parents garage is now a full-blown business located in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. When asked his favorite thing about having his own business, Winrich says he always looks forward to the next big thing. “You have to keep looking forward,” he says.
