Alumnus Spotlight: Lessons Learned From Entrepreneur Week
WRITTEN BY Dayne Shuda
I've always been interested in business. I attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire to study entrepreneurship, and today I have a company called Ghost Blog Writers. Even with running a company, there is always still plenty to learn. I love hearing the stories of entrepreneurs and that's what I heard during Entrepreneur Week’s first event where Jim Stewart shared his story of starting and operating Seattle's Best Coffee. There were many things in Jim's story that paralleled other startup business stories, like struggling to pay rent and having enough food to eat in the early days. He also spoke about the challenges of reaching new levels with the company. The challenges and fear that come with growing an enterprise. It was great attending this talk. I felt like there were lessons and wisdom that I can apply to my own business. I'm already looking forward to next year's event.
